Is this Your Season of Preparation?

Updated: Apr 16, 2020

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" -Jeremiah 29:11

Do you ever feel like your dreams or visions for the future seem lifeless or dormant? Have you been praying the same prayer over and over- and the longer it goes unanswered the more you question whether God even hears you? Trust me, you're not alone.

"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens" -Ecclesiastes 3:1

"Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it" -Ezra 10:4

Your season of preparation is often the season that takes the most self-discipline. It's when you feel spiritually stagnant, as if God isn't moving or speaking in your life, that it can be the hardest to continue walking in His path. But let me reassure you that it is this time that He is at work within you the most. As easy as it may be to start loathing or allowing negative thoughts to consume your mind- it is crucial to stay steadfast in the Word and keep your ears open to what God is trying to speak to you and teach you at this moment in your life. Build your spiritual muscle, dig deep in your faith, plant yourself in His word- learn to depend only on Him. Have you ever thought that maybe He is keeping you here to build your dependence on him and to see if His way is truly the desire of your heart?! As long as you're willing to do your part and trust God to do His- you will get to your season of fruition!

God kept Moses in a desert for 40 years.

Joseph in a prison cell for 10 years.

Abraham without a child for 100 years.

David on the run for 15 years.

God could have met the needs of these men and answered their prayers much quicker, BUT HE DIDNT. He made them wait. HE PREPARED THEM FULLY FOR THEIR CALLING. God knew the path of our lives before we were ever born and His sovereign hand has been with us ever since. There is assurance in that. Have faith in the author of our universe! He is creating a beautiful story for your life, even if it isn't lining up according to your timeline.

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord" -Psalm27:14

God is not deaf to our prayers, blind to our tears, careless of our desires or unaware of our needs. If He is making you wait, He is preparing you for something GREAT!
